Great reminder that eating and farming to reduce the food systems dependence on oil is a powerful act to reduce broader dependence on oil. Another example of how regenerative ag can reduce vulnerability and make the food chain more resilient.

A rare moment of collective accountability in a conversation that usually stops at good vs. bad. Thanks, Mike!

Not to mention that energy is getting more energy-costly to extract as all resource extraction shifts from easier to acquire to harder to acquire. So a reduction in living standards as available energy reduces is a given, not a question. The bigger impacts people can have are often in their workplaces rather than their personal lives. How are we all promoting the status qui in our jobs, where we have far more influence cf not driving to work or growing some vegetables. Are what are we telling our children about how to live forward in terms of setting their expectations?

Thank you, Mike! Once again, a profound & powerful piece connecting the actual dots on the current reality that’s been created. We are literally all in this together. Solutions exist & alignment is possible but not without re-designing the entire system from a completely new level of consciousness. I personally commit to aligning my thoughts & actions to further reducing my footprint day to day.

Thanks for drawing the correlation between energy and food and being honest about the trade offs. What do you think about Michael Grunwald's opinion/investigation in his book We Are Eating the Earth? How can we square regens land problem with the population we have to feed? He argues Food Tech. Also, Biden admin upped the bounty on Maduro to $25M from Trumps original $15M and nothing happened. We don't like the way this went down, but the intent of both admins was for it to go down. The answer to the consumption / clean energy problem is nuclear.
